When it comes to trauma is not the fact of the actual event that’s hurting, the emotion is unbearable around it.

We cannot change the past but we can change how you feel about the situation so it won’t bother you anymore.

 

Trauma is like a domino effect, it has a huge impact on your behaviour, choices, how you live your life, how you deal with friends and family.

Your mind will be open to suggestions so we can reprogram these sentences to:

 

“I am enough/I deserve good things/I am more than capable to find a better job/I can do this/I am a fantastic parent/I am doing the best I can” etc.….

 

What is a trauma?

Any distressing or life-threatening event can stay with us and be a trauma: attack, stressful event, abuse, medical procedure, accident, animal attack

 

Anything that we believe to be so.

What are the symptoms of trauma?

  • Flashbacks

  • Negative thinking

  • Nightmares, poor sleep

  • Fears 

  • Anxiety

  • Anger

  • Panic

  • Doubting yourself

  • Hypervigilance

  • Physical pain

  • Low mood

  • Stomach issues (IBS)

  • Fight or flight response

  • Withdrawal from friends

  • Developing coping strategies (alcohol, drugs, comfort eating etc.)

Why should we get rid of a trauma?

Trauma is like a snapshot in the brain, it keeps coming back over and over again when it's triggered and won't let you enjoy life. Like the memory notifications on your phone.

It also weakens your hippocampus (the part in the brain where you keep your memories) so in time you can suffer from Alzheimer's or have other brain-related illnesses.
