Reiki - Energy Healing
You had a long day, a stressful week. You want to cope better with life’s challenges.
You know inside that you have to do something to get your balance back but don’t know what to do. You tried exercising (even meditation) but still, something is missing. You are searching for therapies(oh wow there are so many) but you don’t want to talk about your problems, you don’t want to explain anything, you just want to relax, lay down, have a little “me-time”, clear your head and do something good for your body and mind.
Reiki is a comfy way to get there. You enter my homey therapy room and drink a lovely hibiscus tea, you mention if there is an area you would like me to focus(specific pain, stress, confidence issues etc) you pop onto the reiki table and cover yourself with a fluffy cosy blanket. It is so soft, reminds you of rainy days when you are safe at home and covering yourself with the softest blanket you can find. You enjoy the relaxing music, the candles, the lovely smell of the room, you close your eyes and your stress is already melting away. You know this hour is only yours, no phone, no problems, no distractions, the focus is on you.
It's like an anti-ageing treatment, you look and feel younger, you increase your vitality and confidence. Your immune system is stronger, you sleep better at night. You feel calmer and more relaxed.
Even one single Reiki session can make a difference; between three and ten sessions will bring significant benefits. These may happen weekly, fortnightly, and monthly depending on your needs.
Reiki is a unique system of energy healing, supports any medical, or supplemental healing methods and is of growing interest to chiropractors, medical doctors, physiotherapists, psychotherapists, psychologists and hypnotherapists.
What happens to you during treatment?
A treatment feels like warm, gentle sunshine which flows through you, surrounds you and comforts you. Reiki treats the person’s body, emotions, mind and spirit as a whole. It is safe for adults, children, mothers–to–be, babies and animals.
During treatment, the client remains fully clothed.
Reiki targets the energy field around the body.
Energy can stagnate in the body where there has been physical injury or possibly emotional pain. In time, these blocks can cause illness.
Reiki aims to help the flow of energy and remove blocks, re-balancing the energy field, can enable relaxation, reduce pain, speed healing, and reduce other symptoms of illness.
The energy is transmitted by placing the hands-on or just above the client, so no touching is required for a treatment. It stimulates the body’s natural healing abilities and harmonises both body and mind while you relax on the Reiki table. Alternatively, you can remain seated if it is more comfortable for you.
What are the main benefits of a Reiki treatment?

Increased self-esteem and confidence
Increase in personal energy, vitality and confidence

Do you need to believe in something?
Reiki is not a religious practice, but a way to support natural healing for everyone everywhere. Reiki is able to detect and reach a root cause of a condition. It will help to make more life energy available to you so that the body-mind can activate its self-healing powers. Reiki is compatible with other forms of treatment.
You don’t have to believe in Reiki in order to benefit from it. No faith or conviction is required other than the belief that it is possible for you to get better.
What is a chakra and what does it do?
The seven chakras are the centres in our bodies in which energy flows through. The sites of the seven main chakras correspond to the sites of the main glands forming the endocrine system, which regulates all other body functions via the hormones. During the treatment, I focus on your chakras, as they are the primary access to the human energy system. I scan the body and work on the blocks as blocked energy in your chakras can often lead to illness.
Reiki is used in various settings including private practice, complementary therapy centres, GP surgeries, hospitals, hospices, cancer support groups, post-operative recovery, drug rehabilitation, prisons, HIV/AIDS centres, and in the elderly care.
What's the story behind Reiki?
Reiki has been around for thousands of years. Its current form was first developed in 1922 by a Japanese Buddhist called Mikao Usui, who reportedly taught 2,000 people the Reiki method during his lifetime. The practice spread to the U.S. through Hawaii in the 1940s, and then to Europe in the 1980s. It is commonly referred to as palm healing or hands-on healing.
Beside my psychotherapy and hypnotherapy diploma, I reached the highest qualification in energy healing, I am a Reiki Master and Teacher. I have learnt and am continuing learning different healing techniques which I can combine with Reiki.
